Flea Market Preview

This lovely red secretary dress will be one of many many fabulous vintage items we'll have at the Drill Hall Flea. This dress fits anywhere from a modern size 2 - 10 as it has a flowing fit and open waist. We'll have space to do try-ons at the market, just feel free to ask! It's absolutely fabulous styled as a top as well due to the wonderful collar - see below!

Alli's Accoutrements at The Swapaholics' Snob Swap

Last week I attended the Swapaholics' Snob Swap. It was part of a wonderful series of events sponsored by Swap.com.

I wish I had photographed what I brought to the event: a vintage leopard cocktail dress, a black wool with gold beading vintage cocktail dress, and a white Due Per Due dress jacket. Alas, I did not. I did, however, pick up an arm load of goodies: two vintage dresses and one Betsey Johnson Sweater dress c/o The Closet.

Keep posted to the blog - our next Drill Hall Flea is February 12 and I've got loads and loads of vintage rhinestone goodies for your loves and you lonely hearts.

XOXO - Alli

Preview: Purses & Pulps

Here are a few new things in the purses and pulps stock that I'll be adding to our February Drill Hall inventory. I know it's cheesy, but I'm totally going overboard with the red theme for that cheesy hallmark holiday we all love to hate.

Our First Flea!

This past weekend Emily and I attended our first market, The Drill Hall Flea, at our home away from home, the Somerville Arts at the Armory! (We work with a group that has rehearsal space in the building). Since it was our first time out selling we made up a name for our table on the fly. I registered us as "Allix & Brandy," derivatives of our stage names, because I honestly couldn't think of anything better.

pulps, ponies, and a view of our fellow vendors

As the market got under way and we met patrons and vendors, we started to formulate some ideas as to what to call our respective halves of the booth. Thanks to a fantastic chat (and a helpful sign) from Joolienn of I Am Joolienn, we knew that Emily's half had to be called "Ponies and Pasties" while mine went with the more quotidian, "Alli's Accoutrements."

Here's a sampling of what we sold: several Breyer Horse models, Breyer Horse collectible pieces, pulp novels, vintage handbags, hats, and skirts.

We also got a visit from Melissa aka @Stealfinder who purchased some pulps and a cute vintage handbag I had for sale. (The link will take you to her instagram where you can see her purchases). I actually sold a few purses and now wish I'd had the foresight to photograph them before the market. Ah well, you live you learn.

We'll have tons of photos and previews coming soon - watch out for us at the first Drill Hall in February! (We will have some really special V & anti-Vday goodies on hand).

I'm Back!

Hello friends, new and old!

I just couldn't leave well enough alone. I closed my former outfit-a-day and eco-fashion blog, Mes Lunettes Folles, some time ago, but my love of clothes and well cared for and curated vintage has pulled me back into the blogosphere.

I've long had a dream of selling vintage myself and have started to do so on a very small scale. I'm attending markets and flea markets in my area as a vendor! I've teamed up with some wonderful friends who also sell various collectibles and wonderful things - I'll be linking to them and our goings on here on the blog.

This blog will be used as a place to preview or highlight wonderful items I've procured, cared for, brought back to life, collected, and am preparing to sell. I'll also try my best to highlight my favorite vintage and curiosity sellers, internet inspirations, and other delights.

I am committed to selling only high quality items that have been cleaned, repaired when possible, and properly stored (away from pets, smoke, and the like), at competitive but affordable prices.

I look forward to renewing my passion for vintage and to sharing some of my collecting adventures with you all.

Best,

Alli
